Swedish firm Northvolt has acquired 18.5 million sq. meters of land in Saint-Basile-le-Grand and McMasterville to construct its future battery mega-factory.

Quartier MC2 Inc., whose first shareholder is Gestionimmobilier GAP Inc., an organization owned by Quebec investor Luc Poirier, offered the property.

GAP Actual Property Administration Inc. brings collectively Boda Group (Alice Minying Wu), Gestion S. Gariépy Inc. (Serge Gariépy) and Poirier Développementimmobilier Inc. (Luc Poirier).

The positioning of the previous Canadian Industries Restricted (CIL) explosives manufacturing facility will in future be utilized by the battery producer Northvolt, which desires to construct its mega-factory with 3,000 staff.

1.4 GS public funds

In mid-September, Le Journal reported that Quebec is making ready to allocate virtually 1.4 billion in public funds to the Northvolt battery sector’s flagship undertaking.
