Israeli police say they’ve frozen cryptocurrency accounts belonging to the Hamas terrorist group to boost funds.

“In accordance with some speculations, the terrorist group Hamas launched a fundraiser on social networks and requested the general public to deposit cryptocurrencies into their accounts,” Israeli police wrote in an announcement, as reported by Portal.

The police cyber unit and the Protection Ministry stated they “took quick steps to find and freeze these accounts” with the assistance of cryptocurrency trade Binance.

“Over the previous few days, our crew has been working across the clock in actual time to help ongoing efforts to fight terrorist financing,” a Binance spokesperson informed Portal.

Nonetheless, police didn’t present particulars on the variety of accounts frozen or the worth of cryptocurrencies seized, Portal stated.
